Ireland’s new regulator starts issuing betting licences, while online casino licensing remains pending

Ireland’s Gambling Regulation Act 2024 replaced the previous patchwork system with the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland. Remote betting and remote betting intermediary licences began issuing on 1 July 2026, but remote gaming licences for online casinos had not yet opened.
